About the artist -- Karlie Eldred

Cosmetology and jewelry artist, Karlie Eldred, got her start with hair accessories many years ago as a hairdresser. During this time, she experimented with creating unique hairstyles and began her life-long love of long hair.

Inspiration for hair sticks and other hair accessories came shortly after seeing a pair of hair sticks pictured in a hairstyle book. Unable to purchase them anywhere, she began attending local craft fairs and bead shows where she discovered the materials that allow her to create her own unique works of art. Today, Karlie enjoys making hair sticks, earrings, necklaces, hair combs, and many other hair accessories, using new and vintage materials from all over the world.

Combining hair accessories with her experience as a licensed cosmetologist lead to the creation of Dressy Tresses. In the creation of each jewelry piece may be found Karlie's interest in renaissance, gothic, Celtic and fantasy themes.
